On October 31, 2023, DigiCert will cease the sale of SSL certificate subscriptions for 4, 5, and 6 years

Starting from October 31, 2023, DigiCert will no longer sell extended-term plans for SSL certificates of 4, 5, and 6 years.

According to the announcement by the certification authority, this change was made to optimize the infrastructure for future improvements and advancements in the certificate issuance process. Consequently, it will allow DigiCert to create a simpler and more user-friendly environment for selling SSL certificates.

What should I do if I have already purchased an SSL certificate for 4, 5, or 6 years?

If you have already purchased an SSL certificate for 4, 5, or 6 years, there is no need to worry. All DigiCert certificates with an extended validity period, bought through LeaderSSL before October 31, will continue to function as usual. For example, if you purchased a 5-year subscription in 2020, your certificate will remain valid until 2025 (reissuance will occur according to all DigiCert rules).
